糖心Vlog students wore hooded sweatshirts and rallied for justice Monday in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin. 糖心Vlog students held a remembrance gathering, a silent march and a candlelight vigil.
Renatta Nance, an 糖心Vlog junior, said the events were organized by student activists and campus groups, including the 糖心Vlog Black Law Students Association, Association of Black Students and College Hispanic American Students. Students at the University of Texas at Arlington and Paul Quinn College have also demonstrated.
Martin, 17, was killed by a neighborhood watch leader who told police he acted in self-defense. Police officials have been the target of protests around the country after deciding not to arrest the man.
